At the Speaker meeting we welcomed Katie Vaclavik, who told us all about the Quilts and the Underground Railroad
Such an important history going along with the quilts. The Quilts were to be read like “Roadmaps” to escape Plantations and leading the way to freedom!

Last weekend we went to the annual Sierra Nevada Region Conference in Reno.
We received some wonderful “Thank You” letters this week!
We also received a lovely letter from a teacher at Neal Dow Elementary School for a group of children attending the “Frog and Toad” performance
as part of a Field Trip Experience, put on by Chico Performance.
Our Annual Awards Banquet was featured in today’s “Snapshot” in the Chico Enterprise- Record.
We received a “Thank You” letter from PV High for our donation to their Sober-Grad-Night.

On our February Speaker Meeting we had a very special guest! Vicki Watson, our Governor! She spoke about her vision for the Sierra Nevada Region and what lies ahead!

As a second guest we invited Erica Trejo, the S- Club President from Inspire High. It was a special treat for her to see the “Bigger” Soroptimist picture!

Last week at our Speaker meeting we invited Joanne Tremelling, the Sierra Nevada Region expert on sex trafficking, who gave us an update on progress made and what lays ahead.
We were also joined by Kate Transchel from Chico State!
